Fable - Hound: Mannochmore 12 Year Old
Tasting Notes
Nose
Ripe pear, honeydew melon, fine oak flavour. Ripened strawberries mixed with white grapes. Obvious aromas of pear, honey, herb garden.
Taste
Mango and pear storms forward followed by oak flavour. Very full-oily mouthfeel, the strawberry grape comes back, oily-crisp. A little forest honey. Candle wax mouthfeel green, fruit. With water added - less toasted oak notes, bright green exotic fruit salad, fresh bread, very buttery.
Finish
An elegant expression from Mannochmore, even at 55% the honey-pear-mango essence with the most pleasant toasted oak notes. Fruit salad, long – medium finish very slightly astringent, spicy oak, fresh mint, creamy banana.

Chapter 5: Hound
The Fable brand is built on storytelling, art and illustration. They aim to set the imagination free and open up the charming and romantic world of fine independent whiskies.
An independent bottler who is far from the ordinary, Fable bring legendary myths to life through arts and animation, showcasing hand selected single malts with distinctive taste and intriguing character.
Their first instalment dives into the legend of 'The Ghost Piper of Clanyard Bay', a story hailing from the south west coast of Scotland, close to Stranraer.
Fable have collaborated with artist Hugo Cuellar to design the labels, characters and scenes, creating the enchanted world that forms a set of eleven chapter releases.
This is release number 2, chapter 5/11, it represents the loyal hound of the Piper. It is embodied by the Mannochmore 12 year old, a classic northern Speysider, with a lotta bite and a lotta bark!
This 12 year old Mannochmore hogshead was bottled at a cask strength ABV of 55.5%, with zero chill filtration and no added colour... just the way we like it!
A spicy dram with a rich flavour profile, you don't see a lot of Mannochmore single cask releases out there and this ones a keeper!
